At Happy Hippie Homestead, our mission is to nourish both body and spirit by growing healthy, ethically raised food and creating unforgettable, hands-on experiences for families in our community. We’re committed to sustainable farming, pasture-raised animals, and local food that you can feel good about — all rooted in love, respect, and a deep connection to the land.
More than just a farm, we’re a place where kids can cuddle baby goats, families can celebrate under the Carolina sky, and everyone is welcome to slow down and soak up the magic of real farm life. Through our mobile petting zoo, on-farm events, and educational tours, we bring joy, laughter, and learning to people of all ages.
We believe in raising animals with kindness, feeding our neighbors with purpose, and sharing our homestead in a way that builds community, one smile at a time
Our eggs come from hens that are raised on pasture, allowing them to forage and move around freely in a natural environment. As a result, these eggs are more nutritious and flavorful than conventional eggs. Studies have shown that pasture-raised eggs contain higher levels of beneficial nutrients such as omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin D, and antioxidants and are lower in cholesterol. Additionally, pasture-raised eggs are produced in a more humane and sustainable way, with hens having access to fresh air, sunlight, and natural forage. By choosing pasture-raised eggs, consumers can support animal welfare, sustainable agriculture, and their own health and wellbeing.
At Happy Hippie Microgreens, our mission is to provide our local community with fresh, beyond organic microgreens that are hand-sown and grown with care. We are committed to sustainable farming practices and believe in the power of local, homegrown produce to nourish and connect our community. We offer convenient delivery and subscription options to make it easy for our customers to enjoy the health benefits and delicious flavors of our microgreens, while supporting a small, local business.
Our family served the community with a roadside fruit and vegetable stand in the summer and Christmas trees in the winter for almost 20 years! Now we are getting back to our roots at the Happy Hippie Homestead. We are proud to grow food and meat that feeds our family and yours! Thank you for supporting this tradition.
We will regularly add new pick-up sites and delivery times. If you have questions about delivery or pick-up options, drop us a line!
Your resident Happy Hippie! Airon is a mother to the 3 boys pictured next and is a nurse in her off farm job. She enjoys reading, animals, growing and eating anything!
Ryan is a huge help on the farm. He is a Jack of all trades and a skilled electrician and carpenter. He is also the animal whisperer… I haven’t met an animal yet he couldn’t get close to.
Chris is the best partner we could ask for! You‘ll catch him driving the Cuddle Crew Mobile zoo around and walking our angus steer, Boomer, on a leash at our events.
The best dad and papa in the world! Dave has tasked himself with the huge job of grounds keeper here on the farm. He is a lifelong fisherman, bird watcher, and lover of all animals. He ran Dave’s Place, our road side farm stand, for 20 years in his prime.
Airons oldest son lives and works on the farm. Trey enjoys caring for all the animals and has a special connection with the cats. He has a full time job in Rocky Mount and is an avid reader and a published author.
Airon‘s younger sons, Wyatt and Knoxx. These boys love to help out around the farm whether it’s feeding or moving animals, planting in the gArden, or building projects. But, boys will be boys, and of course they love their video games too. We aren’t off grid after all.
